Reading Term 2 2021 Week 8

For this weeks reading i had to pick 3 articles from Kiwi Kids News, the 1st one was Twitter banned in Nigeria, the 2nd one was Warriors to drop women's team in 2021 and the 3rd one was about a straw that can stop hiccups.

The reason why Twitter banned the Nigerian President after Muhammadu Buhari posted a tweet saying " anyone misbehaving today, will be treated in a language they will understand" Twitter and many others read that as a threat and banned Muhammadu Buhari, Because the tweet violated twitter's rules, So to say it in easy words, Twitter banned Muhammadu Buhari who got mad and then banned Twitter as a result.

Now.. Onto the 2nd article
This article was about The New Zealand Warriors will not have a womans team this year, They explained it was a financial decision and it was also because of the effects of Covid 19. A big number of Kiwi players are going to Australia to play in leagues ahead of the NRLW, basically the NRLW team wont be participating this year.

Onto the 3rd article
This device is called FISST ( Forced inspiratory suction and swallow tool ) Which is a straw that can stop hiccups. People with hiccups would put the straw in the water and sip, The straw device works instantly and the effects last for several hours. The tool costs $14 dollars, the inventors say the HiccAway's forces people to suck and swallow and in their trails they found stopped 92% of cases during trials.

Maths Term 2 Week 8 2021

For this Weeks maths, I had to use a grid for our maths and then place down coordinates I had to make and solve. I had to figure out the locations first before i made the coordinates. The places were Bottle Lake Forest Park, English park, Kidsfest, and New Brighton. This was confusing at first but I got it in the end.
For the image I went on Google Maps then searched for the location and then I made the picture.

Goal: L4 Communicate and interpret locations and directions, using compass directions, distances, and grid references.

Have you ever solved a maths problem like this?
